Go ahead and post em here if you can... they probably won't get past the size limitation on attachments, but you should be able to link to them if they're uploaded.

BTW Thanks, this will help quite a bit.

Scott...

Thanks, the pics help...

Although, I see two things that look a little out of place... the splice in the water line to the heater core, and the plenum bolts on the drivers side... the top middle plenum bolt and the forward bolt should be switched. The splice must have been added by an owner...

But the routing looks good, which gives me a good idea of how mine should be. I think I routed everything pretty close to how yours is since its about the only way everything will fall into place.

Mine had an identical splice in the exact same spot before I replaced the heater hose.
Mine did have the bolt with the clamp for the wires in the center as described though.

I replaced the EGR 2 summers ago and replaced the wire clamp on the same stud as it is here. The car was never apart before that. Could it be a screw-up from the factory? Pun intended. Also, the splice is original to this car. I haven't had anything done to it and either has the previous owner. I have all documentation and service records for the car. Should there not be a splice? What is it used for?

Also, can you tell which stud the cable connects to on this picture. I took it soon after buying the car, I think.

Scott,

I have no idea why the heater line would be spliced... possibly to facilitate flushign the cooling system...
In the other pic it looks like the clamp is in the forward position. I've never seen either of those variants on another car... I'll check the dealer brochure for 87 and see what it shows... but if I remember correctly the only TPI pic in it is an artists rendition of the engine... ie not in a car...

If a car's ever been in for a flush & fill at a shop there is usually a t-junction spliced into one of the hoses.

Are all cars supposed to have that brace between the cowl and hood hinge?

That brace is most often on Z28's and Iroc's... I'm not sure if my RS has it or not, but neither of my birds have them. Its just a piece of 3/8" bar stock with flats at each end... I plan to fabricate a couple for my cars that don't have them.

The brace wasn't used in all thirdgens. All the 3.1L V6 thirdgens have the MAP bolted to the firewall where that brace bolts. Also my Formula has never had that brace since there's seam sealer crossing the hole, its fairly obvious the hole hasn't been open since the car was finished.

I wanna say the MAP on TBI cars is mounted in that same hole, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

You're right, TBI has map sensor there.
The only thing that brace might do is help keep the fender from poping out when you jack up that side of the car!

Its either GM's way of tightening up the front end a bit, or its a nice place to clamp your Visegrips that you use on your worn out hatch struts.
