Did any Firebirds produced in the 80s come without a factory console?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone on here ever restored the interior of their car and deleted the console? I am considering relocating my power windows into the door panels and putting an aftermarket automatic shifter on the tunnel where the console now resides. If anyone has done this, could you give me some details?

Generally restoration would mean returning the car to original. Since originally all thirdgens had a console, it wouldn't be restoration to delete it. If you want to find info on customizing go to the appearance/detailling and body/interior board.
