It replaces the existing piece. You may have to drill a few holes for the clips to go into but I cant remember off hand.

Would you do $60 shipped? I live in Ottawa Ontario, Canada. So it'll be $10 less or so on your asking price. If you need to try to get a quote, my postal code is K1B4P3. Let me know, im very interested.

And the description isnt really clear. I dont see how this is the T-top model, the top of the pod looks like its for the hard top. And what is the answer to the mounting question?

Does it go OVER the existing pillar, or IN PLACE of the original. thanks.

Here is a picture of what i mean. You can see at the top of the pillar, it looks like there is an extra peice from the autometer one, where the T-top goes in, im not sure but it looks like its all one peice. Even if its two peices, the actual pillar itself has a part that goes "straight up" to the far left in my pic. Will go out and verify a little later. Just checked the auto-meter site, they say its the t-top model as well, i just wanna be sure it will fit on and look decent thats all.

Last post for now :)

Sorry, me agian. I just went out into the garage, and took a closer look, and pulled off the screw holding it on. Its all definately one peice. SO, the one you have is prolly not a direct replacement. It looks like itll have to be put on top of the existing a-pillar. Found a pic of a T-top car with the same thing on google, looks like he put it on top of the existing one. Im still interested, ready to give you $60 if it'll get it to my door.

I just installed one of these this last weekend. I thought it was an entire pillar but as you have surmised it goes over the top of the existing one. You drill holes and there are plastic pins that hold the new pillar to the factory pillar. It looks and works just fine I just had a different idea before I actually had one in my hand.

Good luck with the project.

The company that use to make the all in one tri pod is now out of business. The only ones available are the ones that go over the top of the existing pillar which is noticable. That is why if I ever sell mine I know I will get top dollar for it.
