v6-v8 tachometer

Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4 Auto
Axle/Gears: 1 legger 2.xx(needs upgrade)
v6-v8 tachometer

i currently have a v6 tach in my car.... i will be dropping a 350 tpi in the car within a couple weeks... the post of v6-v8 swaps says i will need a tach from a v8... anyone know if this is for sure? and if so have one in good shape

had both in my car no visible difference both worked fine

You don't necessarily need a whole new tach (or cluster), you might just end up buying a piece of junk.
Instead, you can recalibrate your tachometer to show the right numbers for an 8-cylinder engine. Won't cost you more than maybe a $1 for resistors.

Do a search and you'll find a big thread about this.

They are different. I swapped a 145mph cluster into my car and the tach was off. The tach itself was the same, but the chip underneath it is different, so I just popped out the chip from my 110 cluster and put it in and it all worked fine. If you can't find a good deal on a 145mph cluster like I did (or just don't want the 145mph cluster) just look on eBay or wherever for a cluster out of a V8 car. The 110 clusters are dirt cheap.
