Hey guys, I'm looking for an auto transmission shifter **** out of a 1982 Trans Am/Firebird. I'm looking for just the ****, the round one before they switched to the t-handle type in later years. Thanks!

 

You do know that your gonna have to change the whole shifter assembly to make that **** work on a 1991

 

Really? I've seen a guy with an 86 do it. Oh well, I might fabricate something. Would the **** work with a shifter from an 83-newer car in case the 82 is hard to find?

 

Its the way the **** mounts on the shift lever thats different.The **** has 2 metal tabs inside the sleeve that fit into slots on the top of the shift lever and is then secured by a small metal c clip that snaps over top.You can use a camaro shifter assembly from 84-86 as they came with a round ball shift **** that mounted the same way and also has OD on it.
