Problem solved. OK2DELETE

My center console has the lid button, and other miscellaneous pieces sitting in it disassembled. The button has no spring action though.

The pad just flops on the hinge right now, and I don't remember how to put the catch assembly back together.

I think I lost some pieces.

If anyone has the latch assembly, and all the parts / springs? to mount that flat arm onto the lid and side as well,

I need everything to make the console pad work nicely ASAP. Don't need the pad hinge, I already fixed that, which got me into this mess.

i have a OE console latch button ,but typically you have to replace the spring with another design. i used a flat coil spring that i found in my computer parts bin ,all i had to do is trim it to the proper length and it works better than new.the factory spring was a flat "leaf" type that are broken usually when i find them.if you need the latch button its $10+ shipping

Re: Camaro console latch parts?

Thanks so much rusty!!!
You were right. I just pulled the lid sandwich apart again, and the spring steel was busted. I stole a small coil spring out of a dollar store flashlight, and cut it to size.
Button works GREAT now.

All I need now, is to figure out how the spring for the stamped steel arm attaches to the console, and then re rivet the arm back onto the lid.

the spring for the console check arm has a dog leg bend in it ,it does present a problem getting it back in its hole.but it can be done.also i wouldnt re rivet that to the console inner. i prefer screws.again sourced from my computer parts bin
