I need the plane jane bone stock UM7 radio. It was just AM/FM with no power antennae. I need one that works well and is in close to concourse quality condition, meaning no scratches, or fading or yellowing of letters etc. I'll pay $100 plus shipping.

I don't know the RPO code, but I bought a 91 bird and this was in the back seat. I can't say weather it works or not, I didn't hook it up. Does look to be in good shape though

Re: Needed: UM7 Plane Jane radio for 1991 Z

Nope, that one has cassette. I'm looking for one with no Cassette. Nothing but AM/FM. Thanks for the effort tho. Don't toss that out. You'd be surprised to know there are guys who need them. Most of these old Delco head units are buried deep in landfills and there are guys who want their cars to be all factory original correct.

OKAY, before I make an offer on it, something just occurred to me. Do you know what year car that came from? Does anybody know if the letters on the head unit changed to yellow in 1990 like the gauges did? Or did they stay white. I have no idea. I've never had a third gen from the 90's until now. Up to now Mine were all 85 thru 89 cars.

Anybody know?

Yes all the gauges and the heater controls are yellow lettering. That stuff is all white prior to 1990.

Well it's suppose to be yellow then.
This is a 90 Camaro um7 option. The one I have is the correct colors for a firebird

Re: Needed: UM7 Plane Jane radio for 1991 Z

Yep. I have just learned and confirmed that the FB letters for 91/92 were white and not yellow like the Camaros. You already knew that but I am just restating it here for others to read. Also, Im not sure about when they changed from white to yellow in the Camaros but I do know that my 87 and 88 are white. So they changed to yellow in either 89 or 90. Anybody know for certain?

Shoot, no. You misread. I need one with yellow letters. Sorry my post might have been confusing. I have cars from pre-1990 that use white letters and then I have a 1991 that needs to be yellow. I am looking for the UM7 plain jane no cassette no CD just AM/FM radio for 1991 which is yellow letters. But thanks for trying, I appreciate it!

Hey Neil, the change over to yellow lettering was in 90.
