i was looking for a 3 spoke steering wheel 82 to 89 i believe.
one thats not totally gone but wont break the bank either. i know after looking on ebay thats alot to ask.

Should be 1982-87 -- the 4 spoke wheel came out in 1988. Also be advised that 1982-83 cars had a different style 3 spoke wheel (which I don't care for as much, personally), and each year had an optional leather-wrapped variant.

If the leather ones are anything like the leather Corvette ones from that era, I'd stay away from them unless you're already planning on having it recovered by an upholstery shop, or you're okay with a loose or badly cracking cover. The rubber ones are a little better in terms of hiding wear, but still likely to show lots of cracks (particularly on the upper portion) at this point. I ended up with a rubber 1984-87 one for my '91 T/A, and I rather like it.

 

The one I have is the four type.

 

@navy02ws6, Did you have any problems swapping out the steering wheels? I have a 91' Firebird and want to put a 1984 steering wheel on it.

 

It's been 16 years, but it was pretty straight forward, from what I remember; I believe I ended up just clipping and removing the yellow airbag wire and whatever was attached to it, as it wouldn't fit in the older wheel. What I don't remember is what I ended up doing with the horn contacts, as the older wheel has a single contact instead of two, and probably a completely different setup.
