what are some of you guys doing to your interior

im looking for a good way to customize my interior but it has to be "clean". i have done changed my plans 3 times to make it more affordable and less work.now im only in highschool so keep that in mind but i was thinking to keep it all original like the dash and that but new carpet and seats and new fiberglass kick panels and a few brushed aluminum pieces ext...tell me what you guys think of this or give me some better ideas, thanks

Nothing is better than a 14 year old interior that looks like it never left the show room.

Do a quick search in the interior board, IMHO the only way to go is a black stock interior.

Just got done this weekend putting in a full set of leather seats out of a 00 Firebird, boy they sure are allot more comfortable than the stock Camaro seats I had in there. It actually feels like a completely different car to me now.

True that, I installed 95 leather seats in my 82 and I loved them.

I am redoing my carpet to be black buying some racing seats with 4pts. I bought a covans classic dash panel w/o the guages. my brother and I are going to try to do a custom center console. idk how well itll work out tho. but i just graduated highschool this year, so dont let school get in the way. figure out waht you want to do first tho. write down a bunch of ideas, figure out which ones oyu like best, then figure out how much money and labor itll be for each. then from there choose what to do.

right now I am welding in new floor pans cause my old ones rusted out. then I will POR-15 those, then buy some dynomat. after that comes some new carpeting

Im going to see if i can have the locale body shop paint my dash and center console blue to match my future color shem along with all my other panels and then im going to have the seats redone to be blue and white and blue carpet and headliner. I found some digital guages on ebay and some trim peaces and other lil things to customeize the interior even farther. When i first started off i was going to fiberglass everything but that became too much work and i ran out of money so i have an unfinished dash in my garage lol. ill put up some pics when i get done...if i ever do...but i hope it wont be too gaudy.

I have a MINT interior. When I installed the Grey 3rd gen leather seats that were in mint condition it made a world of difference. The key is non ripped seats, a non cracked dash and good carpet.

I went to Jo-Ann fabrics and picked up some high end micro-fiber cloth(suede like).
2yds x 54" for $20(it was half off sale) Then got some 3M #90 spray adhesive and attatched it to the headliner(after removing old sagging one and brushing off old junk) It looks abolutly amazing. I am going to do my visors next.

I have already started to take apart my seat covers and cut and sew new ones. I figure the whole project headliner and seats with 1/2 inch foam will cost under $100.

The microfiber is made for couches and seat cushins. It will hold up very well in car. Also alot nicer looking IMO than leather. It is also alot cooler than sitting on leather(I live in Florida)

They also have this incredably soft vinyl that I am thinking of using to cover the plastic panels. I also want to use that and the micro-fiber on the door panels.

All depends how much $ you have. I got my seats for $400 off ebay. Less than 1/2 for ONE of those cabreau or whatnot seats. They are not super nice, but look and feel just fine for my taste. As for guages, again if you got the $ def make your own set up. I made mine with autometer phantoms. This is a shot taken a long time ago. There are a few things that I have changed, but you get the idea.

I also covered all my interior plastic with cloth. Best idea so far I think. Makes the whole car look new inside. And lastly I also made a custom rear cover, to cover some stuff in the trunk. I think it came out well.

If anyone wants to see A LOT more pics of my build, check out my site. Lover to see custom interiors.
Later
-Dennis

man that is friggen awesome what you did to the dash!!!!^^^^^^^^
i never thought of carpeting the dash but i wonder if that will go good with my custom fiberglass subwoofer box in the back???? but anyways what kind of material did you put on your dash? i was gonna go with all micro fiber for my seats and headliner becasue its like swade but if you spill "soda" or something you can wipe it out and its like brand new,and i could also put it on the dash like that....but i dont want to steal your idea

Steal away man. Hehe. I had a buddy see it, 2 days later his car was totally covered in fabric. hehe. It is just some "shaggy felt" I think. I know it is shaggy something. Got it at Joan and fabrics. I was the only guy in there. hehe. Micro fiber might work just as well. I installed the fabric backwards though. To get it a bit plush, and no long hair. Real short. The fabric is great cuz u can't see the seems in the plastic, and it doesn't get scratched.

I say go for it take my idea. As the saying goes "the best compliment is imitation"

summit sells the pods. You just drill little holes and bolt them on. The guages are 2 1/16". You can put whatever you want in there. Pretty cheap mod. the guages, when they are that small don't cost much
