console lid difference 82-88 and 89-92?

I see on ebay that
82-88 console lid costs like 30bux brand new.

where the one for 90-92 is like 80bux..
what the hells so different that makes this price so different?

I purchased a used one (like new, $15) from 90-92 Camaro a couple of days ago. I didn't study it with a microscope, but it appeared to be exactly like the one on my 85 (new from GM, $40 or so). E-Bay, good grief (I remember when GM Wonderbars were selling there for $50 or $60 when they were still available new from GM for $32)!

the console lids from '82-'84 are only for those years, they changed them in '85 with the new console design. I wish I could find one for my '82 for $30, I've seen them sell for $100 or more on ebay.

I have an 84 and put a console lid from a 91 on mine. What's the difference?

I did this a long time ago, but I don't remember seeing any differences? If there are some, it must be minor.

here's some link..

here's the one for 82-88 that they claim, its really affordable.
eBay Motors: 82 83 84 85 86 87 88 Chevy CAMARO Z28 CONSOLE LID cap ! (item 260011864549 end time Jul-29-06 12:56:21 PDT)

here's another one thats 82-92..? its like 60bux.
eBay Motors: 82-92 New Original Gm Camaro Console door lid armrest (item 320010357754 end time Jul-30-06 20:58:00 PDT)

what I noticed though,
the expensive one says it includes the latch,
and the cheap one doesnt state that,
so could that be the possibility?

The first one is a "cap."

It's probably just the console lid, minus the plastic bottom with the hinges. Im pretty sure you would just transfer the hard plastic from the old one to the new one. I've taken apart a firebird one, and the rubber part can be removed. I don't think you would actually fit this one over your existing one...it would have to be much bigger and would look lame.

Think about it. The first auction is from the same company that makes the dash pad caps too. It's not the actual dash pad, just something that fits on top of it to protect the dash pad I think. Same would be the case here I imagine. Not the actual cover, but something that covers it.

Don't the ones on the S10 fit thirdgens? I heard that somewhere. Oh well. I got a new console lid at the junkyard. Perfect condition except for that little metal bar that keeps it from opening too much. It only cost about 5bucks, so maybe shop there first.
