as long as it's premolded you can just toss it in, let it settle(using a heat gun helps), and then bolt your console, lower door siles, and seats back in. whole process shouldn't take more than an hour or 2.

Not exactly. All carpets will require some trimming, because they come a bit oversized to make sure that it'll fit your car properly. You'll have to trim the center console area, as well as the door area for a proper fit. It'll take a few hours if you take your time and clean everything along the way.

that's why I said if it were molded. center console already cut out and ready to go. when I got new carpet from Irace Motorsprots it dropped right in place. I took a heat gun to it to settle it all out and make it fit just right and I was done. didn't have to trim anything.

most places include the padding for underneath.

I am Irace Motorsports.

I'm impressed that you didn't have to trim anything. Usually they come a bit oversized and require some trimming. They also used to come without the console cut out. They must have recently changed their cutting pattern.

lol. well then let me tell ya the carpet was awesome. I was given the option of console cutout or not. I got it without. I like to cut my own so that I know it's just right. I'll be getting more for my 84 as soon as I get the new floor pans in.
