91 Firebird Center Console ?

How do I get the center console cover up? i can pull most of it up but it seems to be stuck near the cigarette lighter, which i think might be holding it down. anyone know how to remove the cigarette lighter socket?

you have to pull out the ash tray, and under that there should be a bolt/screw under that.

I pulled out the ashtray and theres no bolt or screw there. It seems like its being held down by the cigarette lighter.

The only scres that hold the center console down are 2 screws inside the console compartment towards the back of it. The plastic trim piece that goes around your stereo and A/C controls probably needs to be removed first. It should pop right out. Then if you have the stock shifter, you need to take off the shift ****. Then, try and pull the console out up, and towards the rear.

I had this problem also, try and disconnect the wires to the cigarette lighter then do some pullin. In my case the connectors were hooked on something in there.
