Got a Upholstery Dye Quote on Interior too much?
I took my T/A to a upholstery shop today during lunch to get an estimate on redoing my seats.
Some back ground on my seats i have the leather lumbar support seats in dark grey. The whole back seat has cracking in the leather but no actual tears at all just spider webbing cracking. The front driver seat has the usual heavy wear on the side closest to the door from getting in and out as well as some on the piece where the legs rest with a long thin tear.
They told me what they would do is go over all the cracking on both front seats and all the rear top and bottom with sand paper and sand them smooth and crackless then mix up the factory dye color and re dye basically the whole interior.
All this would cost a total of $450 my question is, is this price seem fair for the work? i know i looked into doing this when i first got my car almost a yr. ago and it being twice as much at least so i figure is a great deal for a "new" interior. The man said i will be very suprised at the finished product.
What are you all thoughts? Will this process aleave my cracking and leave my interior in good conidition? any advice would be great! I can also upload some pics possibly tomorrow of the cracking as well as the finished product.
Thansk in advace.

Axle/Gears: huh?? guessing stock.
so they are going to make the leather THINNER!? I would think that would lead to tearing even sooner, but I am by NO maens knowledgeble about this. Just seems different to me. never heard of this being done.
