factory subs

i am trying to get my 88 gta back 100% origanal and it had the fectory sub option. the origanal subs are shot and i was wondering what i can do to get replacements. are there subs that small still made or would it work to put regular speakers in its place? or is there somewhere that will re-build my origanal ones?
thanks,
Brian

na thats not it. these are located in the sail panels. instead of there being 6x9's there were 2 4x6's and 2 5 1/4 subs. i beleive the code was Qu7 or something like that. im pretty sure they only had this option in firebirds from 85-88. i found a site where i can get subs that small so im set. thanks anyways, but if you wanted to learn more about this option there are some threads in the history/resotration section

they came stock in my 84TA. I have one lying around still, never tried it though to see if it works. PM me if you're interested in it, i would test it first ofcourse. I doubt they are really anything like a modern subwoofer though, a good set of aftermarket component speakers would probably be a good upgrade and would be the same basic concept as the "subwoofer" design.

My 88 IROC came factory equipped with the Delco Bose sound system. I have the cargo cover in mint condition with the speakers still installed. I also have the factory inverted voice coil subs that were located in the kick panels also in mint condition with the speakers still installed. And last but not least the factory cassette stereo in mint condition with the name Delco Bose on it.
