I used a foam called close cell foam it was like $3 a yard. When you lay down the vinyl use a heat gun to warm it up. It makes it more flexable dont heat it upo to much or it will hurt the fabric. Agian make sure you use a good glue.

Everything looks great man! I've been looking for pics of custom door panels for a while. If you did the door panels again would you do any thing different? Different material, different foam, etc. You said use good glue.... What would you consider good glue for this application? Also, did you replace the foam on the seats before you recovered them? Thanks guy, and once again, looks great!

I hope to recover the doors sometime this spring/summer depending on time and how well other things go with the car when I pull it out of storage. Senior Member

The interior looks great. Seems like everybody either loves the velvet or hates it. It isnt my style, but it looks like you did a good job. Definitely much better looking then it was when you started im sure.
The dash looks great except for the wrinkles in the corner.

Yeah i couldnt really help the corners. I did a lot better job on the passenger side.
I decided to use the 69 Camaro SS emblems cause i think they look sweet and im turning mine to a SS. Just cause Chevy downsized the third gen doesnt mean its not a SS in heart.

It looks fantastic... but PLEASE, PLEASE trash that steering wheel. Man that thing looks terrible! Beautiful seats, beautiful dash, and that ugly wheel.
But I reiterate, those seats look GREAT.

Where'd you get the plans/layout for the seats? I would like to know, you've inspired me to redo my seats with vinyl.

Use the old seats cut out the seams and trace the old ones in to the new vinyl. Do one seat at a time just in case you forget how it goes back together.
ANd yes i plan on replacing the old steering wheel.

Hey! There's nothing wrong with the steering wheel! It's big, and bold just like the car. At least there's no problem finding the horn like on some of these car nowadays. lol Have you ever priced one of those wheels?
