Lets See Your Custom Interiors!
I have a 1990 RS and want to completely mod the interior but i want to do something unique. I hate the usual mods, 4th gen this, 4th gen that...i want to customize my interior but i would like to see what you guys have done to get an idea.

I covered my interior panels in felt
Did it to match my felt headliner
Didnt plan on it but got some extra sound deadening
Also did the 4th gen seats, but most people never notice either mods

Nice poolstick there, Pocket. People sometimes ask me if I've got a tear-down high-powered rifle on my shoulder...
Here's my old interior, I bought the car this way, but it's an interesting thing... (I've since removed the rear seats and put seat covers over the front, as well as replacing the panels; the whole set is for sale/trade, if anyone wants them)

Yeah, the seats themselves are amazing, as are the door panels...you can tell the whole job is completely custom.
But I agree with everyone else: the green stinks. The interior is all black now, until I can find/afford replacements.

What I had done when the stock upholstery wore out. Was less expensive than using the OEM material. Headliner, sail panels and visors are also done in the red color.

Took about 2 afternoons to recover all the panels and redo the headliner
I used elmers spray on adhesive
Id advise against this stuff again, find a stronger more flexable spray on glue if you repeat this
Just get some ordinary craft felt and lay it over each piece
Spray on the plastic in areas about 8" squares at a time
While its wet you can press and stretch the felt to conform to the panels
Hold for a few seconds and its set. All ya gotta do, just take your time or itll look like crap and ya get to peel it off and start over.
Be sure the plastic is absolutely clean thou
Headliner was different
Take all the old fabric off and take a stiff brush and scrub the remains of the foam off
Now spray 2-3 coats of glue very heavy. You want any tiny remnants of foam to be fixed and well adhered. Now lay your felt
On the headliner and sail panels, when you stretch the felt around back, use a hot glue gun to secure the felt while its bein pulled tight
If you dont itll look loose and poor quality
Hope this helps yall
I got more pics if your interested too

Hey guys, this thread seems to be doing pretty good, I have gotten alot of inspiration from the posts. I noticed that there are alot of similar threads of people posting their custom interior and asking for advise. So I figured it would make alot more sense if there was one thread about custom interiors. I was thinking if we got alot more posts maybe we can have a moderator sticky the thread. Just a suggestion

that interior above is mine. To put in a 4th gen console in a trans am/firebird isnt too difficult. Will take some cutting inside the console, you'll just have to keep test fitting it like i did. Took me bout an hour. Most of the bolt holes line up so it stays in secure. I love the new console so I really recommend it.

It in my opinion doesn't look right, but I did it anyway, because he wanted one in there, plus I had put in a 6 speed. It took alot of work an fabrication to make it look like it belonged there, and not just hacked in like a lot of them that I have seen done. If anyone has seen my Formula, I try to make every modification to look as thought it came form the factory that way.
I got a 85-92 Firebird radio/climate control pod, bolted it to the 97 console (with a fiece of felt between them so it did not squeak, then I took a piece of the broken stock 87 console and cut it out to fit on the top of the Firebird pod, then took a piece of carpeting (again off the original console side) and glued it down on the top, so that it made a shelf, and didn't look so hacked into it. I then took and fabricated a plexi panel in the ash tray for the power window switches, I also moved the hatch release to where the stock cigarette lighter was on the dash, since the 97 console had 2 Power points.
I do not have any pics, due to the guy coming back form overseas and raping a female friend of mine, so I gave him his car back in roughly 400 pieces.
