84 trunk pop vs 91 pull down.

I had an 84 TA with trunk pop... worked great... I want it back..
My 91 Formula has a trunk pull down...

My question, can I use the 84 system and totally replace my 91 stuff?
Are the mounting points and stuff the same?

Raf

I'm not sure if the '84 will work in the '91. Lon at www.topdownsolutions.com can answer this and probably will once he see's this post.

My son has a '91 that didn't have the console hatch release switch. I bought the release solenoid from Lon at TDS and installed it. I decided to not install the console switch at this time but it can be released from his alarm remote aux. button.

I actually just finished a similar mod a couple of weeks ago, but insead, what I did is beefed it up with two electric motors (thank you junkyards) and replaced the shitty nylon guides with a pair of wheel-bearing sets (typically used for patio sliding doors) and I heavily bolted the motor housings to the mounting braket... works like a charm, no more rattle over bumps...

My Formula had the power pull down, and I replaced it with a regular slam hatch assembly from an 84 Camaro.

I had to drill out the factory spot welds on the bracket for the pull down (And on the donar cars bracket), then I rivited the new bracket in place to get it all aligned, and then a buddy of mine welded the bracket for the new assembly in place, and now I have a regular slam hatch type assemlby like the 82-85 cars did from the factory.
