The funky cigg smell.

I need help. How can you remove the smell of cigarette's out of the car? I know fabreze (or however u spell it), go to the local car wash and get it cleaned, or if their is any industrial fabric cleaners out there. I'm just looking for a fast way of getting the stank out.

I've had my '83 for a couple years now. When I got her she had both the musty smell from the T-Top seals leaking and a faint cigarette smell. Before you use anything do like the instructions and test on a spot out of sight.
I used TurtleWax Power Out Carpet Cleaner which does an excellent job of cleaning and leaves a fresh scent in the car.But to do the job right take all the seats out.On the seats and door panels I used Turtle Wax OXY Power Upholstery Cleaner.Plus having them out of the car gives them a better chance to air out.Now the headliner is a different story. If yours is in good shape vaccuum it lightly then just mist it with Febreze. This worked well with mine and good luck.

i work at a car wash, when we want to git rid of cig smell we use a carpet shampooer and mix in some pine-sol, it seems to work really well. maybe you could replicate with a shop vac minus the air filter. If all else fails....buy a lot of christmas tree air freshners lol

Yeah I would try buying some carpet shampoo, its pretty cheap at advanced auto and spray a ton of that on then vacuum it up with a shop vac with no filter. That's what I did after my heater core went south and my whole car smelled like coolant.

Air Ionizers work great, I had to use one to kill mold, must, and other scents in my 2nd gen camaro. Smelled odorless when I was done- I just put it in there with the windows up for a few hours at a time.

I had the same problem in my service truck. It stunk to high heaven. I cleaned all the vinyl. Then I cleaned all the glass. I then used air freashners. After 8 weeks it cleared up.

Be sure to clean the headliner. When I detai cars that have cig smoke I always do the h-liner because smoke travels up. Leave the windows down after vacumning and before spraying air freshner. With the temp being about 10 degrees around the country you can get the smell out.

Just quit smoking in the car.
Seriously febreez worked in my co workers truck. The guy before him was a heavy smoker. But a couple weeks of febreez every day and a good cleaning of everything washable worked fine. I can't even smell it anymore when I go in his truck.

When you get out of the car, spray some Ozium in it. Febreeze everything else, including the headliner! Smoke does travel up. Try to have as many things open as possible when you smoke in there, too.

I smoke in my daily drive, an '06 leased car. Still haven't had any problems with the dealership telling me it smells. It has leather interior, though, which I guess picks up less smoke than cloth.
