Anyone have split rear seats in their '82 TA?
Hello,
Just wondering if anyone has original split rear seats in their '82 Trans Am? If so, can you please post a pic or 2? Just wondering if mine are original or added afterwards? Here's a pic of mine before I changed them over to a 1-piece...

Check the RPO code listing, that might tell you if the split back seat is original to your car.

Yah, they were common but I would have never thought to see them in an '82? A few guys on here already proved my '82-'84 non-split rears with a few pics of 84's w/ split's. I guess it was just an option to the buyer from the very beggining of the 3rd gen era???
Well I can't seem to find it on the dealer brochure as an option. Not sure if all options are listed though.

Well, that didn't take too long! Visited that website in the previous thread & actually called the tel# & spoke with a Pontiac specialist.
He said split rears were not available until 1984 & some late year '83 models might have even had them as well. There is also a great website they directed me to where anyone can obtain a dealership package which includes the following:
Dealer order form
Factory invoice
Press release
Colors & interior sheet
Engine identification chart
Website is www.phs-online.com

I posted this in your other post but
All 1982 firebirds where one single rear seat.
Split rear seat was an option beginning SOP (start of production) on 1983 (standard on S/E)
1984 and later continued to offer split rear seat
All my 83's have had split rear seats
also
The RPO sticker was not used on any 1982 or 1983 firebirds, in later years it was under the consol lid or in the rear compartment but 82 and 83's never had them.
