Cleaning Plastic...

Wasn't sure where to post...

What is the best cleaner for the plastic in my 84? I used mild soap and water today, but only took off 10% percent of the grime and dirt.

Thanks for the help, hopefully I can clean it and not have to find/buy pieces.

Jon

I've discovered, as a father of a 3yo & a 1yo, that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is surprisingly effective and reusable. It comes as a white sponge type brick. Dampen it slightly with water and clean away. Then rinse it when it gets dirty. It has removed anything our kids have put on the interior of our mini-van. Everything from grime, mud, some stains, and even completely removing crayon (from plastic, vinyl and glass)!!! I've even used it to remove streaks of paint from linoleum when they dragged a red chair across the kitchen floor as well as pen marks from walls.

You're going to think my kids are holy terrors!!!!

Give it a go. It surprised me. Good luck.

Re: Cleaning Plastic...

yea thats awesome stuff, simple green and mr. cleaner, but the best one I found as far as taking off grime is some stuff called Greased Lightning- its great. I think you can still get it in Walmart. It also cleans off engine grime great and it you have big tail pipes, it cleans em off great.
