seatbelt upgrade

Hey,does anyone know if you can put 93-up seatbelts in an 82-92 firebird.I know the back ones look the same, but I'm not sure the front floor mounts are.I have already put 98 seats in my 89, so the seats fit great,I hope that the belts will work, because I already have a full set on the way.

Yes the fronts are a direct bolt in, the only issues I've heard of was trying to get the shoulder belts in the rear to bolt up in a thirdgen that didn't come with shoulder belts (pre '88?). I hear that you probably should remove the front seats for the install... that seems like a no-brainer.

I have a full set myself, just waiting on the front seats I ordered before I install them. I'm not sure yet how I'll do the rear belts since I have an '87.

ah,Thanks for the info ,mine is an 89,so mine came with shoulder belts, the new seats, are already in and I knew the rear brackets were identical, but I got a little panicky when I bought a 93-2002 set and I couldn't tell by the pics if they would bolt up in the front, you'll love the newer seats, they sit so much better

Oh I know all about the 4th gen seats I have about 45k miles of butt time from the '97 I used to own.

I went with some cheapo black "leather" racing seats for the time being at least as a temporary fix if they turn out to be not so great. They'll sure beat the extra crappy torn up seats that are in it right now. I do have some nice leather 4th gen rear seats installed right now.

Re: seatbelt upgrade

Rather than create a new thread and risk repercussion by the search police I'll post my questions in this one I found by doing a actual search.

To those that upgraded the rear shoulder belts to 93 + what issues did you run in to? Assuming my car has the panels set up for shoulder belts.

I currently have dark charcoal 93+ belts in the front and wanted to do the rears to match.

Any pics of the finished product?
