Looking for people experience with buying these. I live in ottawa ontario, so any prices i quote are in canadian dollars. A fellow who bought some parts from me before, told me he had purchased a pair of rear hatch struts from canadian tire, with a lifetime warranty for about $30. I thought he meant for the pair

Well, im doing a tuneup on my car, and i happened to remember them, so i decided to pick up some at candian tire. Mind you this fellow had bought them about 5 years back, so the price is prolly higher now. The were listed for 49.99, i picked those up, and a couple of marker lights that were out and headed for the counter. "That will be 125.65 please" i thought maybe she made a mistake, so i asked again, one twenty five or a hundred and twenty five??? She said, a hundred and twenty five dollars!!! I was like hold on, how much are the struts, she said 49.99, so i said but thats for the PAIR! She said no, im very sure its EACH, so i went back and checked the price tags, she was right.

Is this price accurate? I suppose so, because no one seems to have working ones. For $100 i could prolly get new springs, or suspension upgrades, a new intake manifold, some chrome parts, god knows wat else! My metal pole will do just fine, for now if they really are that much.

What do you guys think?

Re: Rear Hatch Struts
$49.99 a piece? That's way out of line.

I'd try ebay, I got a new pair for mine for $60.

Re: Rear Hatch Struts
When I bought my hood struts I noticed how much more expensive hatch struts were, but they were like $70 a pair compared to the I think $30 I spent on my hood struts... No way you need to pay $100 for them.

Re: Rear Hatch Struts
Man...Thats way too much money.I get mine off of junkyard cars and pay between 2-5 dollars apiece for either hood or hatch shocks.Best part is that I never get stuck with bad ones cause I can see them working and know how strong they are before I pull them off

I got mine at Autozone they were $22 a piece if I remember right. At Napa they wanted to charge me $49 a piece which I thought was way to expensive for just the rear struts.
