Aftermarket gauge install into 4thgen dash

Car: 1984 Trans Am 15th anniversary
Engine: L69
Transmission: 700r
Axle/Gears: 3:73
Aftermarket gauge install into 4thgen dash
I would like to put 3 gauges inside the 4thgen bird dash I have. In the three heater vents on the front of the dash. Has anyone done this? I was thinking of blocking off the flow to that area. Or is anyone has a better way please post.
