Any Differences Between 4th Gen Trans Am & 4th Gen Camaro Seats?

Hey guys. Any differences between 4th gen Trans am seats and 4th gen Camaro Seats (specifically 98-02). One more comfortable over the other? Is Ebony the darkest and closest colour you can get to black in both cars?

Thanks guys

Very different. Its all preference. I think Trans am seats are more comfertable then camaro seats. But i think camaro seats look cooler then trans am seats. Also trans am seats have power bolsters i believe which is a bonus camaros do not. Ebony was the darkest color.

Irregardless of color, style or difference, I installed 4th gen seats in my 82 and they were the difference between night and day. I installed gray 94 Camaro leather and I loved them. I cannot testify to the difference between the two but I would assume they are both better than what the third gens have now (age and sun, not to mention butts, take their tolls)

I say this with experience, most colors were unique and some were one year only colors. I had a maroon interior in my 82 that I could not find replacement parts anywhere, I just improvised and did the best I could to match. There are no light blue seats in 4th gens at all.

Re: Any Differences Between 4th Gen Trans Am & 4th Gen Camaro Seats?

The reason 4thgen TA seats are so comfortable is that they're basically thirdgen GTA seats. The seat was 'special' in thirdgens, but it was 'the norm' in 4thgens. So the GTA seat was apparently the 'mold' for the future.

Some have the plastic back and power, while others have an upholstered back and no power. But the style, shape and design of the seats, themselves, are exactly the same. The only differences are style of the upholsteries used and the headrests.

Irregardless isn't a word. It's just "regardless." Sorry, I can't help it.

csreid Hijack Thread Alert

Irregardless is one of those words that is either used naturally without a person realizing he has used or heard it. Or–When the word irregardless is used in speech or is used in writing, the hearer or reader wants to gouge out the tongue of the user. Even Windows 97 highlights irregardless as a usage problem and suggests regardless instead. The consensus is do not use irregardless unless you do not care about what others think about you. If you do care what others think about you, use regardless in your speech and writing. However, the status of irregardless may be changing. This word is less that 100 years old, but seems to be gaining popularity, even among the educated. Irregardless is appearing in speech and print more frequently. Maybe this is one of those words that some of us will just have to get used to hearing, IRREGARDLESS of how we feel about it.

Back on track now!

4th Gen Trans AM seats have an independent head rest. Camaro seats are all one piece as far as I've been able to tell.

Re: Any Differences Between 4th Gen Trans Am & 4th Gen Camaro Seats?

perhaps someone can post pictures of firebird ones as well. here is what camaro ones look like.

these are out of a 1996 Camaro Convertible. the seatbelt holders were added when i got the seats.

they have solid headrests which i am normally against, as i like to actually move the headrest behind my head, where most people seem to prefer it behind their neck, so hen they get in an accident they will DIE. yeah, i like to live. however the Camaro backs go up high enough that this is not an issue. they also look realy cool. regardless of the ripped side bolster i still get "wow, nice seats" comments from fellow car enthusiasts.

No. He had these seats in another car, and sold the rolling chassis. He didn't buy, just to resell them.

Don't know when the eBay auction was, but they were posted on our local craigslist on 2007-04-13, and he's had them for a long time before they were ever posted.

Ahh ok. With what he showed in the picture, it was identical to something that was being sold on EBAY a couple of weeks ago when I was buying my seats.
