inner shift boot?

i'm doing a 700r4 to T-5 swap. i understand there usually is a inner boot that's fixed to the trans hump to seal the inside from the road...where can i get this boot? i haven't seen them even on classic industries...there's a metal frame that goes with it.....anybody have one? or know where i can find it?

Not sure if you can order online from them...but give them a call..

Also, Mr Gasket has some universtal ones that would work. Autozone stocks a couple of them, but they could order whatever you want from the Mr. Gasket catalog.

Scroll through the pages and you'll see them. Some have chrome that are meant to be exposed, but some are plain.

I got one from autozone once. It was a bit pricey though.

Did you get the one with the chrome bits on it? Thats the one they stock. Its meant to be left in the open in a non-center console car. There are cheaper ones you can order from Mr. Gasket through Autozone. Just show up with part numbers or you will have to deal with the "behind the counter syndrome".

wdigitog: Let me know how you make out with TA... Ive never delt with them but they have a few things I need so I might soon.

Re: inner shift boot?

They offered that one to me. but I laughed and said no. They pulled out some big book from behind the counter and ordered one for me. It was one meanted to be under the console.

Re: inner shift boot?

getto...TA seemed like cool guys...very knowledgeable about our cars..the guy really spent time with me on the phone and didn't seem to want to push a sale and move on. they know what years take what and what you could use to substitute...ie 4th gens stuff to 3rd gen....

Re: inner shift boot?

Did you order the shift boot from them then?? Glad to hear they were decent folk. Hopefully if you ordered something that part of the transaction goes smoothly as well!

Thanks for the info!
