Tach location...
Hey guys, I've got an 87 Transam GTA, and am running into issues with where to mount my aftermarket tach. For the past few years, I've had it mounted down in the stock radio location, in front of the shifter, but it's just not a convenient location for it, as I would really love to be able to see it in my peripheral vision at the track.
The easy answer of course is on the dash, BUT, I have a flawless dash pad, and it really really pains me to think of putting holes in it (I don't know why, I gutted the rest of the car, installed a cage, swapped every piece of the drivetrain, but I can't bring myself to harm the dash pad)
Does anyone have any great ideas on tach mounting locations? Maybe some pictures? Does anyone have a suggestion for a dash mounting that does not harm the pad? The A pillar is out of the question, as I've already got a gauge cluster there.
Thanks in advance guys!

My vote... ditch the surface mount tach and get a nice flush mount from autometer or some place similar. Since you are in a bird, its not too hard. You'd probably want to pick up a spare gauge bezel and all. Just incase you want to go back to stock.
Im alittle bias though because I really dont like tachs mounted on those little brackets stuck all over. I realize that some guys do it because their tachs have shift lights built in, and recal, and all kinds of other stuff. I just hate seeing two tachs.
