Re: rusty seat rails

I'm having the same problem - a week ago I picked up a full set of seats from a 96 formula. The seats are in excellent shape but the rails are rusty - plus I dont have those plastic bits that cover the bolts, so I'm left with these ugly, rusty metal bars pressed into my carpet. I want to get this fixed before I install my brand new carpet thats sitting in my basement. I was considering paint - anyone have any other ideas? Thx

Re: rusty seat rails

I am going to POR 15 mine before I attatch them to my Kirkey seats. That way they won't rust ever again.

Re: rusty seat rails

make sure to sand blast them clean b4 your por 15 them, otherwise you will have some rust growth still, from what i gATHER THEY ARE MADE From the lowest junk steel they had sitting around. I was considering making aluminum bars to fix the seats but then they wont move.
