Pre-'90 wheel on '91 column?

Engine: L03 carbed
Transmission: 700R4, rebuilt+kit
Axle/Gears: 3.42, posi, disc
Pre-'90 wheel on '91 column?
Questions of legality aside, I want to know if I can easily put a non-airbag factory steering wheel on my airbag-equipped column. I'm pretty sure my airbag has long been disabled anyway, and I'd rather replace my worn wheel with one that doesn't have that fugly bag in the middle.
I know it SHOULD fit, as I've seen a Grant wheel on a '91, but I'm talking about a factory piece. Has anyone actually done it?
