I’ve searched and haven’t found anything. I have several questions on interior plastics and I’m surprised I'm unable to find anything on the subject.

My '86 Camaro:

What is the best way to remove the residual adhesive after removing the carpet panels from the interior plastics?
It appears to be the same as what comes out of a hot glue gun. I’ve tried Goo-Gone (and a trick I read about of using WD-40) to remove the glue. It worked with some scrubbing with a plastic scrub pad, but it left a white chemical type of haze. I was only able to remove this with some Armor All, but I’m expecting it to come back. This was used on some minor pieces, and I need to find a safe way to remove the glue as well as the stains from the larger pieces.


For my '85 Camaro:

Is there any way to restore the interior plastics after they have become sun damaged? This is where it has a whitish coloring, but will go away if it becomes wet. It does have the Copper interior option and I doubt I'll be able to find any replacement for it.

I understand places like Classic Industries carry interior plastics in black and then you’re supposed to dye them to the color you need. Has anyone done this and how well did it work for you?

Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated.

GM and 3M make adhesive release agents usually in aerosol form.You are on the right track with Classic Industries,or possibly Eastwood or Year One,for the paint supplies to restore your interior panels.Main thing is that they be very clean and use the suggested primer.As you've probably guessed it's similar to painting the exterior.
