Early 80's T/A shift plate question

I found a nice T/A in a yard last week. I only had my cell phone camera. I forgot my digital. Anyway The car was a T/A and the center counsel had the larger shift plate, 5 Speed manual, IT WAS MINT BEAUTIFUL! including the white gear pattern plate! If I remember correctly it had a 2 piece upper counsel cover, meaning a shift plate and behind that was a 4 way directional switch and smaller switch behind that , all for mirrors I think. Then it had the 2 power window switches like on a Camaro. The boot even looked really nice as well as a leather wrapped shift **** handle in black. Ir looked kinda like a larger Camaro shift plate in a Firebird with Camaro looking ashtray. I think it is still available. It had a plate on the dash saying something like 1987 show car from a parade or something. But I believe it was an earlier year than 87 due to the counsel. Or the counsel was replaced. I believe the condition alone of this shift plate and possibly the whole counsel is so nice it is rare. Possibly worth alot to somebody.
Any ideas on what year it could be and the value of the shift plate or counsel?
Please let me know before it is gone or destroyed by an idiot.
Thanks,
Ray

yeah, sounds like an 82-84 firebird console. They are very similar in appearance to the camaro consoles. and PLEASE spell it "console"! I'm not trying to be rude, and wouldn't have said anything if it was one or two times... but by the 6th I was cringing pretty hard!
