Speedos for T5 after ditching the ECU?? (I searched)
Hi All,
There were 12 pages of links in my search but I didn't find what I was looking for.
I have a 1991 Z28, 305 TPI auto w 2.73s.
I'm swapping in a carbed 350 and T5 and 3.42 and ditching the harness and computer.
At that point do I need an ealier year mechanical cluster to stay with a stock appearing dash?
Which years will fit and work, preferably a 145 mph speedo.
I guess I could also cut a plexiglass face to mount in the dash and install Autometer Phantom Gauges.
Will I need to tear the tranny apart to make any speedo work or is it just a matter of having the right size gear pressed onto the speedo cable and installing that into a boss somewhere on the tranny?
Thanks for taking the time to reply
Evan
