Rear Cup Holder?

Hey guy/gals I found this cup holder on ebay and I was thinking of putting it on the rear of my center console where the ashtray is at. I measured the back of the center console and The size looks about right and it looks pretty stock too. Here are some pics.

Here is where I want to install it. Here is the cup holder.

Here are the dimensions.

Here its closed. Im going to get the black one.

So what do you guy/gals think?

Re: Rear Cup Holder?

i dont think of the back seats of a camaro as being a comfortable place to lounge around and have something to drink.

nor can i fathom how its even possible to drive a third gen and have a drink remain in a cupholder, but thats just me i think

Re: Rear Cup Holder?

i think whatever floats your boat is what you should use. If you like this unit get it. If you use the back seat often i would suggest it. How long it will last as it looks semi cheap i can't comment. I just went to the junk yard and picked up an 98-02 center console with 4 cupholders for $15 complete. 4"...seems as though it should fit nicely. I think you should go for it if you like it. Being in the middle like that you don't have to worry about people kicking it and what not so it should be pretty safe.

Since I'm 6'3" I would agree... heck, my little brother (12) is about 5'5" and he just barely fits back there.

So I guess there is someone that drives like me... I had my first autocross event about 2 weeks after I got my license and 4 days after I bought my IROC and ever since, that suspension has never had to work harder in its life.

On a side note, the only thing wrong with my interior is that the passenger shoulder strap is a little sloppy so I don't even allow food or drink in my car unless it is in a cooler or something and even then I am reluctant.

I dont think he means using it for someone in the back seat, I think he wants it there for him because its out of the way too
