Neat little interior mod to top it off...
This has been my free time project for the last 2 days. Repro 1st Gen deluxe interior door panel emblems from eBay. Props to IROCZ28KevinZ back in this thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...-boneyard.html
for the idea.
Nothing much to explain, just see pics!

The pieces did not come threaded, so I just found some really small nuts and carefully self-threaded them on the post. Very low load on the nuts so it worked out.

that is the nicest interior i've seen in a thirdgen, i love the door panels (idk if those are stock or not but i wish i could find a set for my car) and the camaro logo you got on there just sets it off

Wish I knew more about the door panels. Just found em rummaging through the junkyard in an 86 V6 sport coupe (maybe Berlinetta?) just sitting amongst all the picked over third gens with an UNTOUCHED interior. It was like a diamond in the rough, pennies from heaven. That's where I found the door panels. They were in absolutely perfect shape, I should slap whoever let that interior go off to the junkyard. It had very nice matching seats that I wasn't able to get also. I did grab the early style arm rests, which are infinitely superior in looks and quality of construction compared to the ones that came stock in my 91. I threw that junk out.

I didn't touch the panels, they were black vinyl when I got them. I did however paint the interior plastics with some duplicolor interior vinyl paint. It looks good for a daily driver like mine but has significantly more gloss than stock so you better do everything in it, dash included or else it will not match. I am most impressed with how it adhered to my black Pontiac shift ****, which was gray. Just one or two coats of that stuff and it shows absolutely no wear at all after a year of shifting that thing multiple times per day. And even if it does start to wear off no big deal, I keep a can of that stuff handy all the time and I can just touch up areas if I need to. It has started to chip off the plastic in one small spot behind the driver door under the speaker.

looks real nice!
Re: Neat little interior mod to top it off...
That's exactly what i was imagining of doing to my interior. Obviously not to the tee, but i was hoping that i'd find non fabric door panels and vinyl or leather seats.
Where did you get the seats and carpet?
