Fuel gauge

So, I did a complete motor conversion on my car, and in doing so, i had to replace the fuel pump and sending unit in the gas tank. the sending unit appeared to not be working on the v6 because the fuel gauge didn't work, so i was excited to replace it with the v8 fuel pump. however, when i changed the pump and sending unit the gas gauge still wont work. it sits in the same exact place, which is just over 3/4 of the tank. i replaced the entire gauge cluster (for the tach that is) after this and it still does the same thing... is there some sort of fuse somewhere? or connection that may be bad? i know theres a plug up near the gastank, not sure if its the sending unit tho... could that go bad? i just have a hard time believing that i've had 2 bad sending units now... i feel like it might be something else? has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Fuel gauge

i dont know if there is a fuse or not. but to see if there is a bad connection, you can use a multimeter set to ohms and see if there is a ground or short. or again with the meter check for voltage at the gauge. what motor swap did you do?

Re: Fuel gauge

You might try grounding the tank.
