Dont' know what some switches are used for??

hi guys, need a little help and search showed up nothing on this ?
picked up this 89' and the prior owners messed up the wiring, and removed some parts and i am trying to track them down and find out what they did.

1. to the left of the steering wheel is the headlight/park light switch, below that is a on/off switch, what was it's function??

2. to the right of the steering wheel is the lighter from what i have seen i some of the posts here, what is below that? on mine they completely tore out the front of that cover, so there is just a hole.

3. with the tranny stick whether it's man/auto, there is (3) switches behind the stick, what are they used for? on mine the whole cover is gone and just wires.

on the road to bringing her back to stock but taking my time and asking ??? and doing it right the first time. thank you for the support and advice.

89,1. On my `88 Iroc the switch is for the fog lights.
2. A similar switch for the rear window defogger.
3. Switch on left is for the driver`s side power window, middle switch is for the rear hatch pull down release switch, and the switch on the left is for the passenger side power window.
----------
Oops, on question # 3 I meant to say that the switch on the driver`s far right on the console is for the passenger side power window, not the left.

Re: Dont' know what some switches are used for??

hey jimdutro, thank you. picked up haynes manual for the car and that really did not break down any interior parts.
the previous owners did a job on the wiring, they had the fog light switch run to the speaker wires.
they took the window defogger wires and spliced them together with residential wire caps.
i pulled the covering off where the rear hatch latches and found the motor that locks the hatch. got loose wires there and it looks like the connectors for the motor is broken off.
but you know what, i'm glad i can get the chance to fix these small problems. because in the end the car will look good and i will have one SWEET looking ride.

want to say thanks for the info, you really helped me out.

89, You are welcome, anytime. All of the parts you need are available new and used. Take some time looking around and you can save a lot of money. Ebay, House of Camaro, Modern Day Muscle, Hawks, Parts Train.com, TPI Parts are a few of the places you can find what you need. Also, there are a lot of parts available from people on this site. Make sure to disconnect the battery before doing any electrical work on the car. Also, if your manual does not have wiring diagrams, they will be available on Ebay.
