Wiring in LED gauge inlays. Stuck!
I am trying to wire my new LED guage inlays from SRP in to 91 RS. the instructions are very vague, very generic (not model specific) and seem to have beenwritten by an english as a second language class...
They say to wire the power and ground wires from the inverter that came with the gauges into the power and ground wire on the parking light switch, so that the gauges light up when you turn on the parking lights.
I got behind the headlight switch and there are several wires on the connector at the back of it. I found the red and black wires and spliced in the wires from my gauges. Everything works, except the guages light up even with the headlights off and no key in the ignition.
Can someone help me figue out which wires are the parking light switch. Pictures would be great if possible.
Thanks

you need to get a test light and see what wires are "hot at all times"..."hot key on" and "hot with park light's on... there is a wire on the back switch that will only have power at it when the switch is on, use that one and a ground you can find any were...if you still get stuck i have a wiring dig at work and i could tell you the wire color to use

get a testlight and figure out which wire becomes hot when you turn on the parking lights.

thanks to both of you. I will get a test light. 91, If you can tell me which color wire it is that would be great. I have the cluster and dash out to do this and I am in a hurry to get it back together. I'm headed to Panama City Beach for the weekend and I realy want to take the vert! Hopefully I can find it with the test light anyway, though.

If I'm not mistaken, the wire for the park lights is brown. It is in the engine bay harness, so it should follow suit behind the dash.
