New guy here, this is my first post. I just bought a '91 Z28 and the center console has a few nicks in it. Is there anything I can do to cover them up without buying a NOS unit?

 

Welcome to the boards! Where are the knicks at?

 

I'm assuming the nicks are just from wear, but I want to make it look nice again. Mostly on the exposed corners. Where the shiny vinyl part has rubbed off and exposed the grey-like material underneath.

 

I don't even know if you can buy a NOS console There are plenty or replacement parts for sale on here or grab one from the JY The console is made up of several different pieces so you should be able to find a mint or near mint replacement piece for fairly cheap.

 

Mine had a couple of 1/4 inch holes drilled in it. For what I have no clue. When I get to the interior I plan on filling it with some glazing putty or something and painting it black. Should be fine.

 

You can buy replacement console parts from Classic Industries, Year One, etc.. Also like 82 Iron Duke said check out the JY, or the classifieds on here. If it's not too bad you may just trying putting some paint on them
