All was going well till..... droped a screw down the air vent! Sweet

Well the title says it all was just putting the gauges back after sprinkling them with blue leds when disaster struck; i lost a screw down the air vent whilst putting the dash pad back on. Any smart ideas how to get the bugger back? Magnet and piece of string?

Whilst im here i noticed on the back of the dash the oil level warning light wasnt there or the exh temp led either....i take it they are supposed to be there?!

Not sure I've seen the exhaust temp, but I know the oil level was never used.

I have a few down there too, i wouldnt sweat it. If you figure out a way to get them let me know. Magnet and a string seems like a plan though. Make sure the string wont snap though.

I lost one of the LONG dash pad holding screws down the windshield defroster opening....

Yup. magnet on a string got mine out, down the defrost windshield vent. I used a fridge magnet, the shape of a duck or baby chicken or something tied the string around it's neck and bounced the string till it nabbed it.

Oddly enough I only just did this myself this past friday lol

Seems im not the only one with tales of the blackhole know as the air vent. I didnt manage to get the screw back, cant hear it rattle though so its all good! Sure il find another one. As im here again just to mention il be making a custom led 3rd brake light in a couple of weeks so il post the info for that later.
