Hey I need to take the headliner board (hardtop 86 firebird) out. My dome light doesn't have screws, it has these little clips that retain it up. I thought I would have to break them to pull off the dome light? Also do I have to take off any of the upper door trim molding? I know to take off the upper rear trim molding and the visors, dome light. But is that it. Someone told me there might be velcor on the front and back of it too. (no biggie).

That clip will slide off the post if you wiggle it down, think I used pliers to get mine off.

The trim has to come off the A-Pillar (plastic on both sides of windshield).

It's best to open your tailgate and take it out that way without bending. There are 3 or 4 clips on the front of the headliner at the windshield. After the headliner is loose you have to slide the entire headliner towards the passenger side and it should drop down.

Don't force anything hehe, it's easily bent/torn.

After it's out, do a search for headliner repair. There's tons of techniques you can use. I've yet to get mine back in hehe!

 

I believe in the tech section there is an entire article on how to remove it.

 

mine was removed today and was very easy! 25 mins job!! be sure to get it out from the hatch!! be sure of the front clips near the windscreen!!

 

can u tell me where do i but it cheap mine got messed up so i took it out do u know any sites or place i can but it like the plastic one

 

it depends were you live!!

because its difficult to ship as it havs to packed in a large box!!
