its not hard (depending on your definition of hard)
buy some leds of ebay or local shop lots of place carry them.
find a power source in you car, lots to choose from e.g remote wires, interior lights,radio.......

run power to +side ground the -side ,mount in location, enjoy.

dont have pic but i had some behind the center console on my 2nd.they put a nice glow to the footwells.took the power from the cigarette lighter and put in a switch to turn on and off.

Re: LED's in the cockpit like a BMW?

I've thought about doing this, i bought just blue bulbs to see how it worked on my '92 camaro, they were too dim and i couldn't see a thing, there's an older thread on here of people actually installing LED's in their dash, and there's a site or 2 listed on there, i know in dash you'll need 194 bulbs (at least if you have a camaro) and also listed on that site is a dome LED, and one's for where it lights up at the bottom of the dash, they look great, my local part store carried them (their a family owned place, i'm sure autozone and schucks has them too) but at my store they wanted $2-3 bucks per bulb.. i'm sure a little shopping around will save you $$ and you can get it done right

I plan on installing some LEDs under the dash for more light myself. I know the LED I used for my dome light is bright as hell.
