Clean up your seats?

Ok, So I want to redo the interior on my car (Including swapping to a newer style dash and replacing all the brown panels with black ones)
I was at a pick and pull two days ago and noticed a pair of red/orangish camaro seats. They had CAMARO writing all the way down them and looked to be in fair condition.
I was thinking of pulling them but didn't have the tools with me right then. Obviously they have been sitting outside for a long time and need to be vacuumed and cleaned. What is the best method for deep cleaning seats?
I am thinking like some kind of steam cleaner or something? I really want them cleaned well as I can not stand other peoples sweat mixing with my sweat as I stick to my seat on hot days like we have been having here in the east bay lately (Its absolutely disgusting, I almost don't want to drive my car right now because I am afraid of being infected with the sweat of all the previous owners)

Question two, I also saw a 90+ dash ( I think, it was more "rounded") anyway it looks WAY better than what I have now and appeared to be a mechanical style gauge cluster. Can I just pull this and swap it in without wiring mayhem?

Question number three, some of the rear seat belts appeared to be floor mounted and mine are mounted in the hatch area, are there provisions to swap to the floor mounted style should I choose to do so?

Thanks,
Seth

1. the seats with CAMARO are fairly collectable if in good condition. You won't find any material to repair the Camaro part if that is damaged since the material has been discontinued...

2. That dash cluster will only fit 91-92 Camaro's

3. Not sure about this question...

Re: Clean up your seats?

Why you would want to switch to rear seat / floor pan mounted seat belts? You'd have to locate used rear seat belt assemblies, pull the rear seats and side panels and at least drill and tap holes for the rear seat belt assemblies. Then, to make it look right, replace the rear side panels with pre-90 panels or live with the ones in the car. Lotta work for little if anything. just my

It actually fits 90-92 Cars, the dash's were changed in the 3rd gens with the addition of the Air Bag steering wheel in 90.

Yes you can swap the entire dash...it will be a PITA ..and a lot of work ...a lot easier to buy a 90 -92....

Thats not entirely true. It's fairly common to find Red/Orange, Rust/Brown, and Black/Silver "Camaro" fabric. For whatever reason, there was a bunch of people that bought extra fabric back when (83-86) that have it now to sell. Forget about finding the blue though.

I am very technically inclined, what are we talking about here?
It should bolt right in as far as mounting goes they are the same body style...

Does the 90+ harness work with an 89 harness?
Do I need the center console as well?

Do I need to reroute the AC and heater vents?

What all is necessary to swap over?
I can stand the look of my current dash.

Also, whoever mentioned the seat thing, let me know how that orks out for you. Being that they are only $10 per seat on Wednesdays (P&P special) I am really considering picking them up if they are still there.

Yeah, i'll let you know how cleaning them goes. Only thing, is I don't know how much it would cost you. I know a friend who owns a pro cleaning business, and he refuses to charge me for anything, even if I try.
