Gauges help please!

okay im looking at buying a 115mph cluster for my camaro because i cant find a freakin 145mph and im tired of my 85 one but there is a set of glow overlays my friend put in that i like and they look great, but the catch is the overlay only comes in a 145, can i just put the overlays on my existing cluster and still be accurate?????

Re: Gauges help please!

Have you tried whitegauges.net they have overlays for all the speedo. If you want a new cluster that bad hawksthirdgenparts.com has them.Yes putting a 145 overlay on a 115 cluster will be off.

Re: Gauges help please!

well i looked around ebay and theres a guy selling just the 145 speedo itself, could i just take out my cluster and replace that speedo with mine? i also found some 6000 mcd leds that im gonna solder in and that way i can just skip the overlays. In the tech article it says he used 3000mcd, and he suggested using 2 for a brighter look, couldnt i just use 1 6000mcd and make it simple?

Yes--and I recommend doing that as it may save the electrical problems which sometimes crop up. Another idea to brighten the dash is to replace the bulbs with high-intensity 194's and to paint the inside of the metal bezel white.
