need help with cluster swap

so what i want to do is swap the guage cluster in my 86 for one from a 91. can somebody give me an outline of what to do, i cant stand the dummy lights anymore and i want real guages. im pretty much clueless on where to start, or even if it can be done. will all the new guages plug up to the old wires or will i have to rerun new everything?
also does anyone know whats causing my cam & crank sensors to turn on the check engine light? if they were broken the car wouldnt move right, so maybe they shook loose or something?

The swap would require a major modification since the clusters aren't the same ( 82-89 have mechanical speedos, 90+ electric.). You can, however, sway gauges into your car. Check the FAQ's.

I did this swap in my 84, and I was surprised how easy it was.

I swapped out the entire dash, you'll need to move some pins around on the firewall harness C-100, and I believe a few wires on C-200 (I can't remember if that's the right number) It's the harness that hooks to the computer.

You'll need to find the schematics for both cars, and just move the 91 harness to match the other side of the 86 harness.

As for the speedo, I just got a used sending unit off a junk car and swapped out the mechanical one. and ran the wires up.

Do a search under my name, I have a thread on here somewhere on the whole process.
