speedo swap or modification

im sure this has been asked before but im new here. so please bear with me.
i have a 84 z28 ho and i want to install 115 mph reverse guages but i have the twin needle 85 mph and kph speedo what will i have to do to make this work and have the needle be accurate. do i have to swap the entire cluster of just the needle itself? and do i need to change the speedo gear in the tranny? thanks for any help. also i know this dont belong in thisthread but i have been told i have a rare interior with the orange and red seats that say camaro down them. one is completely f'ed up and i need new ones where can i get them. or where can i get new cloth to put over the existing foam? thank you again.

Welcome to TGO. All you need do is swap the 115 or 140 speedo head into your original cluster (I don't recommend swapping clusters if yours functions as designed. Electrical issues occasionally pop up when swapping entire clusters). Unless you put in a rear end with a different ratio, your new speedo will read correctly.

Your interior is not particularly rare. The seats and material have long since been discontinued, so your chances of finding NOS is very limited.

A search will provide more info on both the above subjects.

An Ebay seller, "Rohnaz" usually has some of the "camaro" unpholstery you're looking for. Today he is only advertising the Black and Silver stuff. If you drop him an email he might come up with the orange material. It's out there but hard to find. It took me 5 years to find the blue "Camaro" material. There are 42 "Camaro's " on the cars upholstery, but you have to buy more to do it properly. There is a certain amount of waste when doing the complete job. Here's the blue stuff I bought from a member on this site. Funny enough, I put in an add for parts wanted about a year ago and just two months ago he contacted me and we made the sale.

For the time I couldn't find the fabric, I scrounged the parts of the interior that wasn't too bad. I then did the upholstery and put the "Camaro" on the door panel, keeping in spirit with the origional. Some people say they like it like this better since you don't have all that "Camaro" dancing around your interior. I'm going to redo the interior back to stock, but if you can salvage some of it just for the door panels it'll look good. When the fabric pops up, it usually goes for $250 for a bolt. Thats not bad for NOS stuff.

Re: speedo swap or modification

yeah i emailed that guy from ebay to see if he has it. im just waiting for his reply. my panels are mint so im not worried about that. just the drivers seat is really bad by the bottom cushon and the sides of the seat that hug your ribs are ripped and the metal frame is showing so ill need the foam too. this really sucks cause i actually like the interior and i want to keep it stock. the floormats are stupid i bought it from a girl and i havent removed them yet my bad lol
