Hey stage... Whats the deal with that breather? What type is it and whats covering the outside? Im still trying to come up with a suitable breather set up... just curious what you have goin on there.

only have about 20 bucks in the whole setup, or you could by a metco breather and accomplish the same thing. (60 bucks)
i have a heavy duty academy brand wristband on it. keeps from coating my firewall with oil mist.
they come in 2 packs pretty cheap. it starts getting brown, i just swap to a new one.
going to a breather tank setup with my new motor so it doesnt spray oil everywhere.

Thats one of my two biggest issues with my breather set up now. Im using a universal autozone breather anda drilled out stock oil cap. However i just noticed its got oil all over the coil cover, and probably the firewall. Even though everyone over on tech claimed they didnt get oil mist...
I dont mind cleaning up alittle oil, but my BIGGEST issue is the smell. If the windows are up, and the vents are blowing hard, its hardly noticable. But as soon as I crack a window and get a draft pulling through the car, it gets pretty nasty in there. Makes my clothes stink...and my GF hates it. But I LOVE not having ANY oil in my intake...so Im going to have to resort this idea...

mine is nowhere near that bad. cant even smell it. thats on my stock motor though. got a 408 big head/cam going in soon, and afraid its gonna get nasty.
im going to run 2 drivers side valve covers with an fittings/hoses to a tank to try and keep the oil to a minimum.

ive ripped it out. LOL. sold it to a buddy of mine. building a 408 as we speak.
6.0 is stock shortblock, milled ls6 heads(stock valve) electric water pump, long tubes, pulley, and a futral cam. bout it. it ran exceptionally well for the small camshaft. it was just a good combo. i hope my 408 repeats it with better results. the cam was only 235/237 599/602

I see what you mean. Let us know how the door frame holds up long term if all is good I maybe consider trimming mine a little more. The main thing im worried about is making the door frame weak. I am happy with my finish but it does seem to put stress on the top of the 4thgen panel as you said , with the thirdgen door being too wide.

if you werent a 3rd gen guy that knows its been cut, its invisible.
i took minimal amounts off of the panel. literally putting it on and off 20-30 times to get the cut right.
i kept shaving off a 1/16 at a time until the door would shut, and i stopped.
when you look down where its shaved off, all you see is the rubber weatherstrip around the door.
