cluster differences

So, '90-'92 Z28s had the 145mph and the v6s had 110 mph? Can the 110mph be used with a V8? Need to clear this up before I purchase.

Re: cluster differences

The speedo itself should be fine, but if the cluster is from a V6, the tach won't work on a V8. Well, it will work, but read high, since it expects 6 spark pulses per revolution, not 8. I've never taken apart a camaro cluster, but I know on the firebird ones you can swap out individual gauges - I'm betting the camaro ones are made the same way.

Re: cluster differences

The only 90-92 Cars that got the 145 mph clusters were the 350 tpi cars. These came with a 5500 red line tach.If you had a v8 305 tpi or tbi you got a 110 mph.The 6 cyl cars also got the 110 mph but had a 6000 red line tach where the 305 v8 cars got a 5000 red line tach
