OEM Steering Wheel??

I am looking for an OEM Steering Wheel for a 1987 Camaro Iroc Z28.. I was hoping to get a brand new one but can't seem to find any places that have them. Anyone know if they are still being made and if so where I can find one?

Have you looked at Modern Day Muscle? Maybe they have new or good condition one?

They haven't been available new for several years, and when they were available, they were around $400. There is a seller on ebay that has a recovering service, and their work looks really nice.

I have one installed in my camaro. If you look in the autodetailing and appearance section under camaros, go to the thread called "how i spent my summer paychecks."

$199 plus $15 shipping. Found him on ebay. I will be using them to recover my wheel. You get $45 back if you return your wheel.

My wheel:

Had to pull off the original leather, was shot.

Re: OEM Steering Wheel??

Well I am going to have to check.. My father owns a body shop and had him call some places where they get parts.. If the guy is talking about the correct steering wheel for the 1987 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z28 then I can get it for 325 - 25% discount so it should come out to like 243 and thats an original steering wheel. Not sure how that is being that like most of said and other sites I have gone on that getting an original brand new is impossible but w/ fingers crossed I will be ordering it.

Re: OEM Steering Wheel??

I had collected about 5 old wheels over the years. I contacted Chuck Pelton and traded him those five old ones for the new wheel.

Are you talking about getting a NOS steering wheel?

Re: OEM Steering Wheel??

I spoke to the guy on the phone at the number I gave. He takes the old wheel, sand balsts the spokes, repaints them then recovers them in factory style leather. It is $199 outright purchase, if you send them your wheel back, unbent, he will return $45 then restor your wheel and sell it to someoen else. You dont need to return a wheel, it jsut gets you money back. He said he usually has a Z28 wheel or two at any given time. I am going to try him out when I redo the interior of mine.

EDIT: His does NOT include the horn button or the mounting adapter. It is just the wheel part which if you don't already have a wheel that could be a problem. Horn buttons aren't cheap and don;t know where'd you'd get just the mounting ring.
