Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

Info: I have a 1989 camaro rs; my interior lights wont turn on and along with that my fuse box doesn't have a cover and the cover had the fuse box list of which fuse goes to what (i believe).

Need Help With:
Which fuses do what?
Anyone have a diagram of where all the fuses go?

I'm thinking of buying all new fuses; but i'd like to know what fuse goes to what and how many amps each one should be.

regards,
Timinsk

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

If you have your owner's manual still there is a handy little picture and labels for all the fuses.

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

Do your radio and lighter socket work? If they do, your problem is in the wiring, not the fuse, because the fuse for the interior lights (I'm assuming courtesy lights, correct me if I'm wrong) is the CTSY fuse, which is a 15 amp (blue) fuse right in the middle of the fuse block, next to the circuit breakers for the power windows. Your fuse panel is also labeled as to what fuse is what. However for your convenience, if it will fit, I'll attach a diagram of the fuse panel. In the diagram, the fuse labeled (ACC) is the one for your interior lights.

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

Check your door pins. they get corroded over time and many times can be removed, cleaned and re-installed to correct courtesy light problems.

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

I turned my **** all the way to the right and the lights went off; that helped so much. I didn't expect that really. But I notice my dome light doesnt go on. So i'm going to recheck the fuse once I get out of work.

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

Also the headlight **** is the dimmer for the instrument panel lights,so if you leave it fully to the right they wont be on.I just leave mine to the left, but not fully.Your dome light globe may be blown,or the door pins may be sticking.

Re: Interior Lighting/Fuse Block

I'll recheck because I kind of freaked. I installed all new bulbs and then i looked and realized the person who owned teh car before me put a 10 amp into the acc so it was already shot and i replaced it with a 25 amp or it was 20... but anyways i replaced it and didn't realize it until i got home (10 hours later) that my lights were on (it was around 11pm) and i just got a new battery for it before that.. so i unplugged the battery and then replugged it while i had the **** turned all the way to the right and it turned them off but when i turned them on my dome light doesnt come on; the lights went off when door closed so i know that the pins work, ill recheck bulb when i get home.

thanks again everyone!
