Honestly save yourself the headache and keep the manual rear hatch. The pull down motors are fragile and i have to be around my car at all times. I had a roommate one time that went to slam my hatch and i had to run and shout at him to stop. I grabbed it just in time. If you slam them with the pull down motor its only a matter of time before they break. They were the worst feature of these cars in my opinion and are useless. I mean...whats the point?

The bracket for the latch is different, and spot welded to the car. It can be swapped, just drill out the spotwelds, then weld the new bracket to your car. I agree that the pulldown motor is pretty useless though, just one more thing to break. The power release is handy though, and you can add power release without swapping the brackets.
