Could be a stupid question but where is the hatch gear
I have the normal symptoms of you hit the hatch button and the the motor just runs continuous without the hatch moving and you have to unhook the battery to make it stop working. I have read a few post on here about fixing it but it never really said where it was at. Today I took the center peice of the interior plastic off and I didn't see it around. Am I missing something or what? Does anyone have the hatch gear for dummies guide on this with a picture cause I am lost. I just unhooked the wire that goes to the motor so I could at least use the key to open it and just raise and close it manually.

It's inside the clear plastic housing, on the hatch motor assembly. The motor turns a worm gear, which turns the big plastic gear, which raises/lowers the latch. It's pretty easy to rebuild, you can get the needed parts from:
